These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of House of the Hollyhocks's Website, located at https://houseofthehollyhocks.com.
By accessing this website, we assume you accept these terms and conditions. Do not continue to use House of the Hollyhocks if you do not agree to take all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Client undertakings
The client promises to respect the property at all times and will ensure the use the property is for the purpose of a private holiday residence and not for any other purpose. The Client must not use the property or any part of it for any improper, immoral or illegal purposes.
The use of the amenities where offered such as pool etc, is entirely at the user’s risk and the hosts will not accept responsibility for injury to any member of the Party.
The Clients shall not (nor allow others to) cause nuisance or annoyance to the Hosts or any neighbours.
The Clients must report to the Hosts any disrepair or defect in respect of the property or the fixtures and fittings and report any failure of mechanical or electrical appliances as soon as they are identified so they may be addressed as soon as possible.
All members of the Clients party are expected to have comprehensive travel insurance and shall be responsible for the security of their own personal possessions for the duration of their stay.
Host undertakings
The Hosts where possible will meet the clients upon arrival (unless by prior alternative agreement) and will provide a full tour and demonstration of the main facilities of the property.
The Host ensures that for the duration of the property, the stay will be for the private and wholly exclusive use of the Client and no other party.
The Host will endeavour to ensure that all facilities are in the best possible condition – anything that is identified by the Client as being damaged or not fit for purpose by the Client must be notified quickly so the Host may attend to this quickly.
Reservation & payment
Payment terms
Reservation is mutually agreed by email and will only be confirmed upon receipt of the booking deposit.
Payments are accepted by bank transfer and bank payee details will be advised by email during the pre-confirmation process.
The payment schedule is as follows:
• Reservation deposit payable at the time of booking agreement of 25% of the rental fee
• 75% payment of balance due 8 weeks before arrival
Cancellation terms
Written notice of cancellation must be provided to the Host as soon as possible. Email notice is acceptable.
Cancellation by the Client:
• 100% refundable if cancellation occurs 28 days before the rental commencement date
• 50% refundable if the cancellation occurs between 14 days and 28 days before the rental commencement date
• Non-refundable if cancellation is notified earlier than 14 days before the rental commencement date
Cancellation by the Host
The Host will reserve the right to make a cancellation owing to circumstances reasonably unforeseen before this agreement.
• 100% of the rental value (or monies paid to date) will be made within 14 days of the cancellation being served by the Host.
In such event, all reasonable and irrecoverable sums incurred by the Client will be indemnified by the Host.
Liability & insurance
The Host agrees to provide the property in good order. The Host also agrees not to interrupt or interfere with the Client’s right to quiet possession and enjoyment of the property. The Host does not accept liability for circumstances amounting to force majeure and will use their best endeavours to arrange prompt repairs where needed.
The use of the amenities where offered such as pool etc., is entirely at the user’s risk and the Host will not accept responsibility for injury to any member of the Client’s party.
The Host warrants that the property is fully insured for private and public liability.
The Host accepts no liability of loss or injury to the Client as a result of actions by the Client.
The Client warrants that they hold their own comprehensive travel insurance.
Security bond
Within at least 14 days before arrival, the Client agrees to pay a fully refundable security bond of €1,000. The Client agrees that the Host utilise the Bond to over any breakage, damage or loss caused by the actions of any of the Client’s party up the value of the Bond.
The Host must advise the Client without delay of any charges that are to be applied. The exact value of the charges may be calculated after the notification to avoid delay of the notification.
Additionally, the Clients remain liable for the full value of any breakage, damage or loss of property should this exceed the value of the Bond.
The Host warrants to refund the security bond within 7 days of the final notification of inspection following the Client’s departure. Typically, we expect this to be within 10 days of the Client vacating the property.
Check in/out times
Unless by prior agreement, the check in/out times will be as follows:
Check in at or after 16:00 on the date of arrival
Check out at or before 10:00 on the date of departure.
We will try to be flexible with these times where required but due to tight turnaround times this may not always be possible and we thank you for your understanding.

Your data
When you make a purchase through this website (or by telephone or email) we collect and store information that is required to process your payment, to plan and deliver the service, and to meet our legal requirements to regulatory bodies with oversight of our operations. We pass information to our credit/debit card company for the purposes of payment processing but we do not retain any of your card details.
If you opt-in to receiving marketing mailings we will store your details on a list with a 3rd party email marketing company. You can withdraw your consent to receiving marketing mailings at any time and your details will be removed from this list. We do not add your details to any marketing database unless you specifically opt-in, and we never share any personal data with 3rd parties, apart from the exceptions mentioned above.
We take care to store all customer data securely, on password protected terminal and servers, and with encryption where appropriate. We will notify you if we ever suffer a data theft or data security breach. You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold on you. You have the right to request erasure of data we hold on you, with which we will comply apart from where it would contravene our legal responsibilities.
Processing Purposes
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
Reservations: We use your personal data to complete and administer your online reservation.
Customer Service: We use your personal data to provide customer service.
Guest Reviews: We may use your contact data to invite you by email to write a guest review after your stay. This can help other travellers to pick the accommodations that suits them best. If you submit a guest review, your review may be published on our website or social media platforms.
Marketing Activities: We also use your data for marketing activities, as permitted by law. Where we use your personal data for direct marketing purposes (e.g. commercial newsletters and marketing communications on new products and services or other offers we think may be of interest to you), we include an unsubscribe link that you can use if you do not want us to send messages in the future.

If you haven’t finalised a reservation online, we may email you a reminder to continue with your reservation.
